Event Rider

Francis Whittington is an established 5* level International Event rider.  Having gained a reputation for being one of the best cross country riders in the world he has a wealth of experience and has been fortunate enough to ride at the very highest level within the sport for many years.

Sharon Moore

Yard Manager

Sharon joined the team in 2003 she has been an integral part of the team. Her understanding of the horses and the sport makes her an invaluable member of the team. It is through her hard work and dedication that we have seen yard grow from strength to strength.

Alisha Thompson

Competition Groom/Rider

Alisha joined the team in 2018 having previously worked as head girl at a local livery/hunting yard. She is now a valued member of the team, travelling away to competitors overseas and in the UK. This winter she has be travelling with our Showjumping Stallion and has gained a lot of experience working, riding and looking after the horses at home and at shows.

Gemma Pallett

Competition Groom/Rider

Gemma recently joined us at the end of 2019 and has quite an impressive CV producing and showing ponies to the highest of standards. She has qualified ponies for HOYS, Olympia and Royal International, with many wins and reserve places. She has previously worked for Oliver & Jo Burchall gaining huge experience within the showing world and has now joined us to further her experience within eventing and jumping. Gemma is a very talented rider and we are looking forward to helping her gain knowledge and experience producing Eventers and Max’s Showjumping Ponies.

Katie Preston BVSc, MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Following graduation from Liverpool university in 2011, Katie spent a few months working in an equine charity hospital in Egypt treating the working horses of Luxor and on her return spent a year working in mixed practice on Exmoor.

Having grown up in Cranbrook, she spent some time seeing practice here at Milbourn Equine as a student and when the opportunity arose she joined them permanently in February 2013. As a keen event rider she has a particular interest in sport horse medicine alongside lameness and reproduction.

Outside of work her time is taken up riding and competing her eventers and entertaining her cocker spaniel, Taz.
